Emotions in Play is a narrative game exploring how gameplay mechanics can support emotional awareness in neurodivergent young adults. Designed primarily for people with ADHD and autism, the game invites players to move through rooms connected to a character’s past, using observation, interaction, and choice to uncover emotions and experiences. Inspired by mindfulness principles, its mechanics use gentle pacing, repetition, pauses, and sensory-friendly interactions to encourage present-moment attention and reflection. The project explores how games can move beyond entertainment to become inclusive spaces for self-discovery, emotional learning, and personal development.
