FRom the body, a ritual

The project reimagines the future possibilities of Miao culture through a progressive design language informed by Constructivism and Bauhaus. Drawing on Miao silverwork, batik and ritual traditions, cultural elements are geometrized and stripped to their essential forms. Structured as a ritual performance, the collection combines large-scale structures, body interaction and sound, transforming the body into a new ritual site. Across five scenes, Burden, Heartbeat, Breath, Listening and the final striking of the gong form a cycle of collapse, recovery and response. The project seeks to move Miao culture beyond traditional and decorative representation, allowing a contemporary Miao voice to enter today’s global design conversation.
