This project focuses on the working conditions of professional crews aboard private luxury yachts. Although these vessels are designed for comfort and leisure, the needs of the crew are often overlooked, while owners’ and guests’ expectations take precedence. As a result, helm stations are frequently treated as technical equipment that qualified crew members are expected to adapt to, rather than as carefully designed workplaces. Their private nature also limits external scrutiny, allowing shortcomings to remain unnoticed. The project proposes a shift in perspective, emphasizing the crew’s comfort, safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency as essential design responsibilities.
