Urban shelter: l'ombra

L’OMBRA is a modular structure designed to create comfortable and sheltered spaces in Barcelona’s public areas. Developed in response to the climate emergency and rising temperatures, the project combines shade, solar energy generation, resting areas, and play spaces for children. Its modular and replicable design promotes a more active and inclusive use of the urban environment, while raising awareness of renewable energy and collective resource use. The project was developed in collaboration with local organisations and companies, with the support of student Marta Ramos (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), with the aim of creating a sustainable and adaptable solution to improve thermal comfort and foster community life in the city.
