Ungreifbar

Ungreifbar is a painting project concerned with how we see and recognise things through the idea of sustain. Built through repeated layers of thin oil paint, earlier traces become blurred, deepened, or sometimes almost disappear. Up close, subtle shifts in colour, brushwork, and depth guide the eye across the surface, while the viewer’s position and distance from the painting also change. In this process, seeing becomes more than simply recognising an image; it becomes a physical encounter between the body and the painted surface.
