Flexi - Modular footwear design project

Flexi's design problem originally felt simple, ideate and develop a modular footwear concept, that can become a sustainable and inexpensive option in the market. Throughout the design process. The project had to demonstrate the progression from initial ideation and material exploration, through to prototyping, CAD, 3D printing, refinement and final visualisation. The project focused on developing a functional and aesthetically considered footwear system, while addressing challenges surrounding the fit, Velcro mechanics, materials and manufacturing. Through repeated testing, failures and industry feedback, the design was progressively refined into a final prototype and revised CAD concepts. Overall, the project demonstrates a hands-on, iterative design process and the development of practical skills in footwear design, soft goods, CAD and prototyping.
