OBSCURA

sebastian Bellavia

University College London

Set in 2055, OBSCURA is an adventure puzzle game where players use glitches to navigate and reconstruct corrupted memories through sound, light and touch, exploring how technology and nostalgia reshape our relationship to place and identity. The game follows a character revisiting their childhood home, where they uncover a degraded neural interface device containing fragmented memories of the town. Inspired by coastal towns in North East England, the game reconstructs space through sound, collision, and light. Players navigate the fragmented environments by aligning these sensory layers and exploiting glitching, non-euclidean physics, reframing space as something mutable and responsive in the digital world.
